Hybrid Test of a One Story, One Bay Structure using Mercury
Overview of Hybrid Test Structure
On October 12, 2009 a hybrid test was carried out on the column illustrated above in the Fast Hybrid Testing Laboratory at the University of Colorado. The mass and a cyclic lateral force were modeled numerically and the resulting laterial and axial forces were applied to the top of the physical specimen. The restoring forces from the column were read back into the numerical simulation.
